HOORAH!
I just heard from my editor at HoughtonMifflin/Harcourt that NOAH WEBSTER & HIS WORDS has been selected by the Junior Library Guild for their Fall 2012 catalog!
I think most of us as authors fret and worry over what the reviewers will say about our upcoming books. At least I do. So this news from the Library Guild is a bit of a lift.
Our SCBWI Northern California chapter held its Spring Spirit Conference this past weekend. It was a great success, and a great opportunity to meet and connect with agents and editors. I was fortunate enough to pick up Lin Oliver (co-founder of SCBWI) at the Sacramento airport and enjoy a lovely, quiet talk as we drove to Roseville. She is a supremely talented and yet "real" person.
